Senior Center Resources and Public Transportation is your Connection for public transportation. A state-designated Rural Transit district, The Connection serves residents of Greenville and Hunt County with demand response, curb to curb service for the general public.
The Connection also offers subsidized and/or discount services for seniors, handicapped, and low-income residents.
Wheelchair accessible vehicles are available.
Public Notice of Opportunity
Senior Center Resources and Public Transit (SCRPT) is a non-profit transit service for Hunt County TX. SCRPT also serves as a Senior Center (Meals on Wheels) for Hunt County. Senior Center Resources and Public Transit (SCRPT) is requesting proposals for branding of services, from qualified sources, to provide and deploy up-to-date transit branding. The qualified company should include, at a minimum, the ability to build awareness of SCRPT services, FTA regulations and all other regulations for other funding sources, including but not limited to PHI and HIPPA. Transportation service hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday
(except holidays and bad
weather days).
Services are not available on the following holidays (service resumes the following work day):

- July 4th

- Thanksgiving & the following day
- Christmas Eve
- Christmas
Bad weather day cancellations are determined by The Connection, based on weather reports and local street conditions. Tune to KGVL (1400 AM) for information.
Public Transportation
Our reservation-based public transit services are available to all residents of Hunt County, regardless of age or economic status.
One day advance notice is required. Reservations may be made by calling 903-454-1444 during office hours, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Same day service is available. Same day fares are double the cost of the regular
one-way fare.
Passengers must file a client information form. A third party acting in the best interest of the passenger, such as a caregiver or caseworker, may complete the form.
People living in Hunt County and needing a ride into the Dallas area can catch one with The Connection.
Park and Ride
The Connection will be providing Park & Ride routes from the center's offices at 4912 Lee Street in Greenville to the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) station in downtown Rowlett, which offers connections to DART trains and buses.
There will be two shuttle pickups in the morning and two in the afternoon with the last one ending with a pick up at 7:18 p.m. in Rowlett. More shuttle pickup may be added as demand increases and volume of business permits.
Fares for the service will be $10 each way or $20 trip for the general population, and $5 each way or $10 round trip for seniors and children.
Senior Transportation
The senior transportation program provides transportation to Hunt County residents 60 and older to specific destinations at no charge.
Destinations included:
- Hospitals
- Local doctors’ offices
- Pharmacies
- Grocery stores for essential shopping (limited to one trip per week)
- Senior Centers for participation in the meal program

Trips to other destinations follow the same fee schedule as public transportation.
Fare Schedule
Destination and origin within same community or city:
- $2 per each authorized intra-city, one way trip
$4 Round trip
Destination and origin within Hunt County:
- $3 per each authorized intra-county one way trip.
- $6 round trip
Transportation to Dallas, origin within Hunt County:
- Round trip only
- $34 round trip per person
- Minimum 3 passengers
- from Greenville to Rowlett Dart Park and Ride: $20 round trip -60 and over $10.00
Fares are subject to change without prior notification.
Children under 12 may ride with an adult escort at half-fare, except for transportation
out of Hunt County.
Fares must be paid upon boarding the vehicle. These charges apply to each passenger, including, but not limited to, escorts. Participants must comply with all safety rules and The Connection's policies and procedures.
Trip charges must be paid upon refusal of service at the point of origin or failure of the passenger to appear at the point of origin without ample prior notification to The Connection (referred to as a dry run).
Same day service is available. Fares are double the cost of the regular one-way
fare.
Medical Transportation
- Title XIX Medicaid Program
- Serves participants pre-authorized by Medicaid Central Dispatch in Arlington, Texas
- Provides medical transportation within The Connection service area (Hunt County)
- Provides limited medical transportation from Hunt County to Dallas, as needed

Specialized Transportation
- Eligibility:
- 60 years old or older living independently
Exceptions maybe made for wheelchair-confined nursing home residents or other non-independent living facilities if accompanied by a responsible companion from time of departure through return to the nursing home - Persons of any age covered by a contract between Senior Center Resources and Public Transit and another agency
- Wheelchair-confined persons not otherwise covered
- 60 years old or older living independently
- Procedures:
- Reserve rides (and returns, if needed) within city of residence at least 24 hours in advance.
- Reserve trips beyond the city limits one week in advance. Passengers may be accommodated on shorter notice if scheduling permits.
- Passengers must be ready to depart at scheduled time.
- Notify The Connection of any changes in time scheduled as soon as possible.
- If The Connection cannot meet scheduled time, every effort is made to notify passengers.
- Failure to notify The Connection of trip cancellation may result in loss of transportation privileges.

How to file a Title VI Complaint?
Any person who feels that he or she, individually or as a member of any class of persons, on the basis of race, color, sex or national origin has been excluded from or denied benefits, or subjected to discrimination caused by SCRPT, the complainant may file a signed, written complaint up to one hundred and eighty (180) days from the date of the alleged discrimination. A sample complaint form may be downloaded below or a hard copy can be obtained at 4912 Lee Street, Greenville, Texas 75401. Complaint forms are also located in each Transit vehicle.
Anyone making-a complaint should include the following information:
- Your name, mailing address, and how to contact you (telephone number, email address, etc.)
- How, when, where and why you believe you were discriminated against. Include the location, names and contact information of any witnesses.
- Other information that you deem significant.
